Novelist and tv maker Abdelkader Benali is a genuine storyteller. In addition to novels and plays, Abdelkader publishes essays and reviews in renowned newspapers. Themes of traveling, migration and movement are closely connected in the life and work of the writer. We vividly remember his columns from the heart of Beirut, while he lived in this middle-eastern city. Recently, Abdelkader and his wife Saïda are devoted to exciting culinary explorations. These turned into a lovely cookbook, Casa Benali (2014), and the exciting Moroccan travellogue Chez Benali, broadcast on Dutch national tv.
