Curator and writer Övül Durmusoglu is based between the cities of Berlin and Istanbul. Övül works on the performativity of artistic processes and methodologies in contemporary art alongside the issues of collective memory, amnesia and conception of cultural and political hegemonies. Heading YAMA screen in Istanbul, Övül also co-leads ‘Solar Fantastic’, a research and publication project between Mexico and Turkey and has curated ‘Future Queer’, the 20th anniversary exhibition for Kaos GL association in Istanbul.
